About John Biggins

John Biggins has worked extensively as a director and DP in commercial, narrative and documentary production. He is based in New York City, and previously in London and Sydney.

John has received 5 Emmy awards shooting features and content for NBC’s Olympic production team, spanning 8 Olympic games. He has worked as Director and DP on commercials for campaigns including Toyota, Diageo, Deloitte, Mattel, Experian & Universal Orlando, and cosmetic brands Kiehl’s, Bare Minerals and KISS, as well as promos for Showtime.

John has shot over 30 documentaries for networks around the globe. His most recent cinema documentary Knowing The Score enjoyed an extended cinema season in Australia and a Rose d’Or 2023 Nomination. The Noah Lyles Project, a documentary following the 100m and 200m world champion around the globe to claim his titles in Budapest, was recently released on NBC’s Peacock.

He regularly shoots athlete profile films for NBC’s Olympic presentations, Sunday Night Football, and NHL. Feral Peril, a documentary for ABC TV Australia, won an ACS Golden Tripod – the highest national award in documentary cinematography that year.

His 8 feature film DP credits include the survival-thriller Wild Woman (in post),  Primal (US and Australia) and Black Water, which received wide spread international cinema release. Its cinematography was recognized with a silver ACS (Australian Cinematographers Society) award.
