I would definitely recommend James and the giant peach. Poor James, I feel so sorry for him because his mean ugly nasty aunties be mean and treat him like nothing but the book is really good. I liked this book as it gives us a lesson of hope and the theme of this book is hope and friendship . What is special about each one? While out one day, he encounters a man who offers him a sack of magical beans that will, so the tale goes, react marvellously with the first living thing they encounter. Which one is your favorite? The book that he wrote is the book that the reader has just read. Crawling inside a hole within this peach, James escapes the confines of his yard and sets about on an adventure with his new-found friends.

It ia an amazing book. Then one day, a wizened old man in a dark-green suit gives James a bag of magic crystals that promise to reverse his misery forever. James is very excited, but as he runs back to his house to execute the instructions, he trips and the magical green objects burrow into the ground.

Don't deprive your children of fantastic stories such as this one - there are one in a million! When James discovers a secret entranceway into the fruit and crawls inside, he meets wonderful new friends--the Old-Green-Grasshopper, the dainty Ladybug, and the Centipede of the multiple boots. A good book but hard word to understand for small children below 10 year.

The star rating reflects overall quality. Roald Dahl is the author of many great children's books that all teach you to have perseverance and to never give up. James and the Giant Peach is far by one of Roald Dahl’s best books. The made the book good to great and funny. It just made me little emotional at first but when James adventure started, it was superb!!!! I love the language he uses, the numerous words he has invented. What a book  Best to read all the time. A must read. I've never visited Central Park, but if I ever do, I'll be watching for the giant peach pit where James Henry Trotter settled happily after his wild excursion. Refresh and try again.

I think it was a very interesting story!! Their gradual descent into the city is ruined and they begin to sink rapidly. Dahl's original cast of characters, magical and suspenseful situations, and his liberal addition of comic poetry also make this a terrific read-aloud book. Will he escape? It's also worth noting the way James overcomes his fear of the insects once he sees past their shocking size and appearance. They forbid James from interfering, fearing that he will ruin their profit-making scheme. James and the giant peach is a great book and is made by my favourite authors Roald Dahl you should also read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. After years of feeling like an outsider in his aunts' house, James finally found a place where he belongs. Choosing this work, apparently his first stab at children's literature, proved highly entertaining and a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

It was one of the best books I had ever read. It turned out to be a great choice. The city throws a parade in their honor, and by the end of the parade the entire peach has been eaten by local children, who want to taste the giant fruit.
