If your new to the series, pull up a chair and crack open this book. These books are well written with well drawn characters that you genuinely care about. Lord Gareth de Montforte saves a couch of passengers from highwaymen; getting shot for the deed. By changing the setting to Iceland, and removing all of the recurring ancillary characters, he breathes some fresh life into the series, even when it didn't necessarily need it.
